Privacy Policy
The Mid Click does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts and no analytics.
What the app does
The Mid Click is a macOS utility that turns a three- or four-finger tap or click on the trackpad into a middle mouse click. It runs entirely on your Mac.
Accessibility permission
To work, the app asks for Accessibility access in System Settings. It uses this permission for exactly two things:
- Reading how many fingers are touching the trackpad, and whether a mouse button was pressed, so it can recognise the gesture.
- Sending a middle-click event to the app under the cursor.
The app never reads keystrokes, screen contents, window contents, or clipboard data. Touch and click information is processed in memory the instant it arrives and is not logged or saved.
Network use
The app makes one kind of network request: when you enter a license key, and about once a week afterwards, it sends that key and a device name of your choosing (your Mac's name by default) to Lemon Squeezy, the payment provider, to confirm the key is valid. No other information is sent. If you never buy a license, the app never connects to anything.
Purchases happen on Lemon Squeezy's checkout page in your browser, under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy. The app does not see your payment details.
Data stored on your Mac
Your two settings (finger count and trigger mode), the launch-at-login preference, the date your trial started, and your license key if you entered one. The trial date and key are kept in the macOS Keychain so they survive reinstalling the app.
Third parties
The app includes no third-party code, SDKs, or advertising.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
